Bike Dope started with a pretty simple idea: sports nutrition shouldn't be this complicated.

I'm a cyclist. I ride long, ride hard, occasionally make questionable decisions about how far is too far, and I know firsthand what happens when you get your fueling wrong.

Over the years, I went through a lot of powders, pills, gels and brightly coloured mystery liquids. Some worked. Some tasted terrible. Some came with ingredient lists that required a chemistry degree. And a lot of them seemed to take themselves very seriously.

So I started asking questions.

What does your body actually need when you're riding? How much sodium? How many carbs? Which ingredients have real evidence behind them? And could I make products that deliver that stuff in effective doses, taste good, and don't cost a fortune every time you fill a bottle?

Those questions eventually became Bike Dope.

Made for the ride.

I started Bike Dope in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, developing endurance nutrition around the way I ride and the adventures I go on.

That means products like BASE, my everyday electrolyte mix, and HiCARB, my adjustable high-carbohydrate performance fuel. No magic formulas. No proprietary pixie dust. Just thoughtfully formulated products designed to help you hydrate, fuel and keep turning the pedals.

I'm obsessive about what goes into Bike Dope products because I use them too. Ingredients need a reason to be there. Dosages need to make sense. Flavour matters. Value matters. And if something doesn't make the ride better, it probably doesn't belong in the bag.

Serious nutrition. Less serious branding.

Cycling already has enough rules.

I don't think your nutrition company needs to yell about unlocking human potential every time you want to go ride your bike.

I built Bike Dope for people who love riding, racing, exploring, suffering, attacking unnecessary hills, chasing their friends and occasionally blowing themselves completely to pieces.

You don't need to be a pro.

You just need to want to keep going.
